Memories of Newport, Rhode Island

Last weekend I took the time to go through my photo library (those pictures taken since the beginning of 2010), and re-rate all of the images. I used a method I learned from an extremely helpful article written by Scott on Chase Jarvis’s blog. During the process, however, I was mentally revisiting all of the locations I’ve been in the last two years.

One image in particular (shown left) has been stuck in my mind all week. It’s an image that I took of Bailey’s beach near the end of the Cliffwalk in Newport, RI. I’ve been looking at this image a lot; particularly whenever I get stressed or upset. I do this because it takes me back to a moment in time when I was extremely happy. I really, really enjoyed my time in Newport–with my family and without–and my absolute favorite place was the cliff walk. I walked it once with my family and twice on my own.

Whenever I look at this image, I close my eyes and it’s like I’m back there. The warm air … the sea breeze … the sound of waves crashing against the shore …

… right now, this is my “happy place”.
